July is almost over

Hi everyone.
Sorry I have not been to the computer lately but have been very busy. Did a double run Sunday before last and worked my Thursday off again last week. Did have a very enjoyable Friday off though. Went to Anderson, Alaska with the campground hosts to a bluegrass festival. Music was really good. We stopped for a nice steak dinner before coming back to camp. Nice way to spend a day off.
I had Ricky Craven and a friend of his on my bus yesterday. They are up here on vacation and the "guys" were going to do some hiking. I could have given them some really good climbing tips - but I didn't. He was more interested in what I was doing for the summer. We talked for quite a while.
It is starting to get cooler. You can see your breath early in the mornings. I hope the Alaska winter is slow in coming - I still have six weeks to go!!!
I don't have much time and won't be able to write a short story this trip to the computer, but will try to soon.

Lots of love to you Linda, - Hollie, Bill & Sara. OK, you too Tobe. All of you! I miss you all - will write more later.

Monty

Hi Dad. It was nice to hear from you. Glad you had fun with your new friends at the bluegrass festival. I can't believe that you only have 6 weeks to go. Mom and Bristol are counting the minutes I'm sure. And we are counting the seconds until that fateful weekend in October when we get to see and HUG the Alaskan!!! It is about 1:30 in the morning and I can't seem to sleep. My thumb is throbbing and painful and keeps me up. Mom may have already told you but I got a piece of wood from the divider in the armoire right up under the bed of my thumb nail. I went to the doctor today. We can't seem to actually see anything under there so it may have come out. Either way, it is starting to get infected and it hit a nerve or two also. It is swollen to about double the size it should, discolored and did I mention it hurts like a @#%*#!!!!!! The doc put me on an antibiotic and gave me Vicodin (woowoo). I also have to soak it in warm water several times a day for at least ten minutes. Then, I put ointment on it and wrap it up. Of course, it is on my right hand so everything is awkward right now. Never realized how truly necessary a thumb can be. Every once in a while it shoots this pain clear up my hand. SUCKS!!! If it isn't better in a week or so, he wants to shoot it up with Lanacaine and dig around in there. Lovely! So, keep your fingers crossed it heals on its own. Just a couple weeks til I go back to work. I'm anxious to go back. I'm much more prepared than I was at the beginning of last year since we had literally moved here the weekend before. Great news about Sara's Kingman probation position, huh?! She is so excited. We had another Vinegaroon (whip scorpion) finds its way into the house. Nasty things! We had left the patio door open. Monsoon season has officially begun. We have had a couple of storms and the yard and street flooded but it doesn't last too long. You know that little grass area in our neighborhood? That is Monsson Lake. It fills up very fast during this time and tons of people go swim in it. Hilarious. This coming Sunday we are going to Keith and Aline's for a birthday cookout for Aline. Should be fun. Well, I'm going to pop another Vicodin and see if I can rest. I love you!!!!!!!! ~Hollie

Hey,Cuz,how are things going up there?Linda came over to Kim's to see Wallace Lee and she told us about your blog.I've never read anyone's blog before,so this is all new to me.Looks like you can add another talent to your profile,"Author."I didn't get to read the whole blog, but will, when I get the time. So,it sounds like you don't get much "free"time.I bet you're one pooped pup by the end of the day. We're glad you are able to do what most of us just "dream" of doing.(I don't dream of the hard work, just dream of being able to see Alaska.)Take lots of pictures, since that is the only way any of us will be able to see Alaska.Mom,Dad,Alan,Kim,Doon & Judy said to tell you HI....Keep blogging and I'll keep reading.Take care and see you when you get home.Love, Gayle & Alan

Hey Dad, How are you ? Hope things are going good! How was the camp ground? You better be careful of the crazed fans out there! I was in Lake Havasu all day today. We had chart audits, so it was long and boring. But we all went out to lunch in honor of me, so that was nice. Kim gave me a nice gift to use at my new job. I have to say I am a little sad to leave the co workers. THey were the first people I really had contact with here other than Hollie and Bill, so they will always be special people to me. Bill is grilling out Italian Sausages tonight for supper. Not much else is going on. Hollie and Bill spent the weekend in Laughlin. We had free hotel comps, so they had a little mini vacation together. I joined them Saturday night for dinner and we went to see a comedy show at the River Palms. It was a pretty good show. I definately think it is something I would do again. Well, take care, be looking for the movies. Love you and miss you soooooo much! Sara

Hey Tob!!
Sup? Haven't heard from you lately, but understand your doing well.We celebrated Belle's birthday Friday evening and saturday afternoon with a cookout at Dave and Carol's. Then we headed to the VFW for a suprise birthday party for Hardy ("Harry") Williams. We got to tip a couple with your bride. Don't know if you had heard, but I was part of the winning team at the House Brothers golf outing in July. Boyd Jr., Geno, Ken Krikie and myself shot 11 under. The closes to use was 8 under. My putter was unusualy "HOT". By the way Rogala is toying with the idea of a two man scrabble league that would start after the other leagues have finished. It would start mid September. Thursday morning league...I had asked Norris to mark me down for a low average when it came time for Kenny and I to play Croy and Tuggle. Well it was this last Thursday. If you sleep was distrubed by some loud screaming it had to have been Croy and Tuggle. Ivan took the card back in to the club house before I arrived to make sure all I needed was four....yes (4). Norris told him I hadn't been playing very good on Thursday mornings. I'm really averaging (14). I finished with 16 that morning with Croy and Tuggle still bitching. Ivan new there was something wrong and he thought Tuggle new it. But come Friday evening Tommy was still rasing hell about to Ivan. So Ivan told him my average was (14). Tommy's mouth fell open and Ivan said they still kicked our ass's, but not as bad. I'm sure I'm going to hear it from Tuggle before long. Didn't know what you were creating when YOU taught me how to stir!!! Bill house is going to be a grandpa. Kelsey is due in Nov or Dec. Fishman is moving up in the world....he now is riding a 650 cc Yamaha....he says now people wave at him and he's trying to perfect his own type of wave. Right now he's using the queen wave. I don't think he realize that as a biker it tells other bikers that he is gay! LOL Our garden is going crazy. Squash, zuccine, greenbeans, q cumbers and tomatoes. Would you like for us to send you some? By the way q cumbers was spelled that way just for you. LOL We've been real busy at the studio we also had a computer go down last Tuesday with our viewing Smartpath program...things were real hairy for a couple of days, but we're back up and running ....for now. I also went to D&M (our lab) for a Seminar in the morning and then golf in the afternoon. Mike and Wes both asked me to bring you up with me, but I told them it would be a long drive for you from Alaska. They said to make sure I brought you next time. I got to play with three guys one of which was playing for his first time at least it seemed that way to me. It was a beautiful course White Hawk country club. It had 36 holes. Any way...it took over 6 hours for my group to play. the guy ridng with me lost 23 balls plus to others I found and let him hit. C9's and 8's were all he had on the front nine. On the back nine he would wait till we got to thr green and then drop his ball out and cip and putt...for a 7 or 8. I shot a 92. Not bad for the course or the extreme heat. I also picked you up a logo ball. Better go for now I know I've been hopping around from subject to subject. Just trying to get you caught up. Sue says howdy doo!!! Be safe my FRIEND!!
MISS YOU!

Hey dad! Hope all is well. I'm so glad I got to talk to you Monday night after my first day back to work. Don't be down. We all know you miss us and we miss you terribly but you almost have this adventure under your hat and that is awesome!!! My Meet the Teacher night was last night. It went really well. I have some adorable kids! All of the parents talked with me and were VERY nice. One mom told me that her daughter just had to have for a teacher this year. She said I was a LEGEND at their house! Ha!! Isn't that cool. One year and I'm already a legend. Must be in the genes. I had told them all about my blog and how to post comments on it. To my surprise, I had 4 messages today from students. One of the girls said that she was soooooo excited to Mrs. Lowe and get to be in her WORLD FAMOUS CLASS! I'm telling ya, my head is starting to swell!!! HAHA!!! Yep, that's right, I'm not only a legend, I'm known for my world famous class. WooWoo!! You better have WooWooed out loud on that one. Meant to call Mom tonight and tell her all about it but time got away from me. Damn 2 hour time difference! Well, Sara is about to finish up her 1st week at probation. She's a little frustrated but she likes it. Bill is working a half day on Saturday then the 3 of us are going to Vegas. We're gonna go to the new Teacher store, mess around, probably eat somewhere. I sure hope we don't run into any of those pesky penny slots! Plans have changed a little bit for our October trip home. I can't take that Monday off because of staff, class and student pictures!!! So, Sara and I are taking Thursday/Friday off. I'm booking flights tomorrow so I'll let Mom know the details. My thumb feels almost 100% since I got that piece of wood out. I'm bringing that damn 2X4 with me when I head your way. You guys have to see it! Well, I better hit the hay. It's 12:30 in the morning. I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU!!! Miss you, Miss you!!!!!

Hi Monty, found your blog. We're in anchorage on our return from Seward. Everything is very wet here. Hope that Denali is sunny and warm. Take care --- your favorite Savage River campground hosts, Patricia & Gary p.s. we'll be back Sunday noon (8/26) and be at the campground all week. Come visit any time. We'll have stories about the monstrous vegetables at the Palmer fair.
